“I Have Nothing to Say”

The bathetic story of Aaron Swartz continues with this account of his friend/girlfriend’s account of her gutting by federal prosecutors.

At least the poor girl wised up eventually. Unfortunately she had spent enough time flapping her gums to give the not-terribly-bright apparatchiks helpful information to make things much worse for her friend.

I don’t know if it’s right but I feel only a little sympathy for these foolish children. Mostly I feel disgust and revulsion for everyone involved. Swartz and Norton were crushed like bugs, but they were crushed by a system they worshiped. Swartz didn’t want to be a felon because he wanted to vote. He wanted to work in the White House. He didn’t want to drag frightened, helpless people into windowless rooms to be harangued and intimidated, but he wanted to be one of the people who decided who got the treatment.

Norton fails to mention this all happened under the regime of Obama, whom she no doubt worships, and his AG Holder. These people got their wet dream, a black progressive President and a black progressive AG. Who destroyed them. The government is no different under Obama than Bush not because it is always fascist, but because it is always progressive.

Couple lessons here. One, never do anything illegal. Swartz thought being a progressive activist made him immune. How much less an opponent of the system can break the rules. Two, cooperating with law enforcement is stupid. Tell them nothing. If they press, get the best lawyer you can, who if he is worth anything will also tell you to tell them nothing.

Or you’ll wind up like Aaron Swartz, or possible worse his girlfriend. I’m not sad it happened to them, but I don’t want it to happen to you.

About thrasymachus33308

I like fast cars, fast women and southern-fried rock. I have an ongoing beef with George Orwell. I take my name from a character in Plato's "Republic" who was exasperated with the kind of turgid BS that passed for deep thought and political discourse in that time and place, just as I am today. The character, whose name means "fierce fighter" was based on a real person but nobody knows for sure what his actual political beliefs were. I take my pseudonym from a character in an Adam Sandler song who was a obnoxious jerk who pissed off everybody.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh. The 5 words. Every WN must memorize them before anything else: I have nothing to say.

Here is a video from the inventor:

The double standard (or the “only standard” as you sometimes call it) is quite amusing, inasmuch as people who thought pouring water down throats was inhumane, while flying unmanned drones over wedding parties was necessary. I personally have no problem with either action, or with selective suspension of Habeas Corpus in wartime.

Speaking of the legal system, whatever happened to the St. Skittles case? I guess reality intruded a little bit too much and the “white Hispanic” might eventually walk.
