I discussed yesterday the phenomenon of Full Negro, and its relationship to our overall current and prefered (by the powerful) state of Half Negro. (Partial Negro is a little more accurate, but Half Negro has a better ring to it.)
Charles Blow of the NYT salutes the coming of the new brown America, which he seems to inaccurately assume will be like the current state of Half Negro but only more so, even better for blacks. He doesn’t take into account that most of the browning will be Hispanic, people who neither like nor feel any sense of obligation towards blacks.
What he doesn’t take into account is the change in attitudes of whites, a possible peaking and reversal of black power due to the end of white guilt as I talked about with regards to Trayvon Martin, Peak Negro. Half Negro depends on the ability of blacks, under the guidance of elite whites, to intimidate non-elite whites and keep them off balance. Full Negro is essentially a failure because whites leave, and blacks can only benefit from them by resources sent from a distance, not by their actual presence. As often noted, blacks go to bad schools because the students are black.
America has been strongly Negrified by the system, and white children worship blacks as never before. But the idea as seeing blacks as weak and oppressed is out of date. Blow quotes increasing hostility towards blacks by whites, and this is because of their uncomfortably high level of legal and political power and their stranglehold on the culture.
Somebody noted that Obama’s reelection depended on blacks, that the Democrats can’t count on black enthusiasm for a non-black candidate, and may not have such good results next time. Blow is right, there are profound changes coming, but to assume blacks and browns will simply go from victory to victory is short-sighted. The overall wealth of America is decreasing, due to the increased proportion of browns and blacks and the impoverishment of whites. There is less to be redistributed, and whites are going to be less willing to give to buy peace. In a nation where things are not presumptively white, white identity will inevitably increase.
