Talk Radio Is Useless

Allan Wall at VDare wants to get talk radio hosts talking more about their issues. But talk radio is a useless medium. Conservatives have been using talk radio to get themselves worked up for 30 years. Talk radio has had some help getting conservatives organized, and maybe may a political difference for the Gingrich movement in the 1994 Congressional elections. But the world has moved on since then. The Tea Party was partly talk radio motivated, but probably more internet motivated.

Radio is an FCC-regulated business that cannot stray too far off the reservation. It is mainly concerned with selling advertising, and thus appeals to mainstream conservatives who are really conservative liberals, or “alt-Democrats” as I think somebody called them, maybe at View from the Right.

Real debate and examination of politics and society has to occur where it can be done without the limits of government oversight or advertiser approval. Matt Drudge has been far more important to promoting race realism with just his links than any talk radio program could.

About thrasymachus33308

I like fast cars, fast women and southern-fried rock. I have an ongoing beef with George Orwell. I take my name from a character in Plato's "Republic" who was exasperated with the kind of turgid BS that passed for deep thought and political discourse in that time and place, just as I am today. The character, whose name means "fierce fighter" was based on a real person but nobody knows for sure what his actual political beliefs were. I take my pseudonym from a character in an Adam Sandler song who was a obnoxious jerk who pissed off everybody.

That’s for sure. The FCC is a pretty powerful organization actually – fines, searches.

Talk Radio is useless, save for Birch Barlow:

Free speech is going, there’ll be people in prison for speech within 10 years thanks to the mass influx, with Republican collaboration, of third world savages. Permanent power to the white-hating Nazi (yes Nazi) left. And the Hush Rush revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” will be its first shot. So the effectiveness of talk radio is rapidly becoming moot. The second amendment is going too (for the same reason), all those cold-dead-hands Freepers are going to get a chance to show what they can do. Bwahaha! Political liberty, it’s a white thing, and when CONservatism chose to go along with white-hating racism it was a conscious choice to choose “diversity” over freedom. And perhaps more to the point money over freedom.
