Allan Wall at VDare wants to get talk radio hosts talking more about their issues. But talk radio is a useless medium. Conservatives have been using talk radio to get themselves worked up for 30 years. Talk radio has had some help getting conservatives organized, and maybe may a political difference for the Gingrich movement in the 1994 Congressional elections. But the world has moved on since then. The Tea Party was partly talk radio motivated, but probably more internet motivated.
Radio is an FCC-regulated business that cannot stray too far off the reservation. It is mainly concerned with selling advertising, and thus appeals to mainstream conservatives who are really conservative liberals, or “alt-Democrats” as I think somebody called them, maybe at View from the Right.
Real debate and examination of politics and society has to occur where it can be done without the limits of government oversight or advertiser approval. Matt Drudge has been far more important to promoting race realism with just his links than any talk radio program could.
