Love Never Dies

There was a news program on this week about 9/11, about some woman who lived in lower Manhattan and had lost her husband. It seemed like a later in life relationship, based on strong mutual need as well as friendship. It is hard to lose someone when they are such an important part of your life.

There is a group of animators making short films about those who died. This is about another older couple-

But love never dies. I think you can believe this even if you’re an atheist. However small, however short-lived, however seemingly inconsequential or insignificant, it changes the world in some small way and is eternal. Hate lives for a long, long, long time, but eventually it fades away. By love I mean real love, not the phony passive-aggressive manipulation that our rulers wrap around us like a straightjacket.

About thrasymachus33308

I like fast cars, fast women and southern-fried rock. I have an ongoing beef with George Orwell. I take my name from a character in Plato's "Republic" who was exasperated with the kind of turgid BS that passed for deep thought and political discourse in that time and place, just as I am today. The character, whose name means "fierce fighter" was based on a real person but nobody knows for sure what his actual political beliefs were. I take my pseudonym from a character in an Adam Sandler song who was a obnoxious jerk who pissed off everybody.
