Robert Byrd, BIH

I was inclined to let the guy go until I made the unfortunate decision to turn on the Sunday morning talk and news shows, where he is being warmly eulogized.

Is there any one individual who more typifies the complete corruption of the system? Robert Byrd is the perfect example of white socialism subsumed under mainstream socialism. His Klan leadership- he was founder of a new chapter, a recruiter and an officer, no joiner- fits perfectly with all his other political activities.

Still the eulogizing is a little curious. He was just a stooge, an unusually good one but just a stooge nonetheless. Why was he so important to them? I guess because subsuming the white socialist is an important part of the overall strategy. The ideology is designed to appeal to a broad variety of people, but can’t appeal to everybody. The ability to control people by fear and greed alone is necessary also.

God will be Robert Byrd’s final judge. But if we believe Dante, there are people who can’t even get into Hell, and their resemblance to him is remarkable-

22   Resounded through the air pierc’d by no star,
23   That e’en I wept at entering. Various tongues,
24   Horrible languages, outcries of woe,
25   Accents of anger, voices deep and hoarse,
26   With hands together smote that swell’d the sounds,
27   Made up a tumult, that for ever whirls
28   Round through that air with solid darkness stain’d,
29   Like to the sand that in the whirlwind flies.
30   I then, with error yet encompass’d, cried:
31   O master! What is this I hear? What race
32   Are these, who seem so overcome with woe?
33   He thus to me: This miserable fate
34   Suffer the wretched souls of those, who liv’d
35   Without or praise or blame, with that ill band
36   Of angels mix’d, who nor rebellious prov’d
37   Nor yet were true to God, but for themselves
38   Were only. From his bounds Heaven drove them forth,
39   Not to impair his lustre, nor the depth
40   Of Hell receives them, lest th’ accursed tribe
41   Should glory thence with exultation vain.

About thrasymachus33308

I like fast cars, fast women and southern-fried rock. I have an ongoing beef with George Orwell. I take my name from a character in Plato's "Republic" who was exasperated with the kind of turgid BS that passed for deep thought and political discourse in that time and place, just as I am today. The character, whose name means "fierce fighter" was based on a real person but nobody knows for sure what his actual political beliefs were. I take my pseudonym from a character in an Adam Sandler song who was a obnoxious jerk who pissed off everybody.
